Talk Around Text, Freebody -  Professor Peter Freebody (University of Sydney) - for teachers and parents

Freebody discusses ideas about the impact that parents and teachers can have when talking in depth with children about texts. He shows how simple answers do not develop the understanding that is needed to keep pace with what is occurring in today's classrooms. (11 mins)


Self Reflection and Children.  

Self reflection is a skill that children of all ages need to develop. This is a skill that will help kids in adulthood in many ways including developing their self-esteem. Being reflective means being able to think about what you have done, why and if it was effective.

If children can adapt their behaviour after reflecting on what went well or not well, those that can will hold a worthy skill.
